A Consultant for Every Case, in One Place

Twelve medical specialties working as one team, with a unified medical record and immediate internal referral. Stop re-explaining your case at every clinic, and stop losing months moving between centers

  • Consultants across several medical specialties
  • Laboratory and imaging on site — diagnosis in a single visit
  • Internal referral between specialties on one medical record

Which medical specialties are available at Sira Clinics in Madinaty?

Sira Clinics in Madinaty offers clinics in: internal medicine and gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology and vascular medicine, neurology, urology and men’s health, pediatrics and neonatology, oncology, hematology, and nephrology. All clinics are supported by an on-site laboratory and radiology department, with a unified electronic medical record enabling immediate referral between specialties.

The 3 Topics Our Visitors Search Most

1. When should I see an internist, and when should I go straight to a specialist?

The wrong choice costs you a wasted consultation, time, and sometimes a delayed diagnosis.

Start with an internist if you have:

  • A general, non-specific symptom: chronic fatigue, unexplained weight loss, recurrent fever, dizziness.
  • Symptoms involving more than one body system at once.
  • Chronic conditions requiring comprehensive management (diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders).
  • Abnormal test results you don’t understand.
  • Any doubt about which specialty you need. An internist is always the smartest starting point — they either diagnose you or route you correctly.

Go straight to a specialist when the symptom clearly belongs somewhere:

  • Pain or injury in a joint or bone → orthopedics
  • Chest pain, palpitations, breathlessness on exertion → cardiology (and if the pain is severe and sudden, go straight to emergency care)
  • Recurrent headaches, numbness, limb weakness, tingling → neurology
  • Burning on urination, renal colic, men’s health concerns → urology
  • Menstrual irregularity, pregnancy symptoms, pelvic pain → obstetrics and gynecology
  • Any child under 16, with any complaint → pediatrics
  • Chronic nasal congestion, ear pain, persistent hoarseness, spinning dizziness → ENT

A rule that saves you money: if you’re unsure, call the Sira Clinics patient services team and describe your complaint in two lines — we’ll direct you to the right specialty at no charge, before you pay for a consultation in the wrong place.

2. What should I screen for at my age?

Preventive screening is always cheaper and easier than treatment. This is a general guide, adjusted for your family history and personal risk factors.

Ages 20 to 30:

  • Blood pressure every one to two years
  • CBC, vitamin D, and B12 every two years
  • Premarital screening (including recommended genetic testing)
  • Routine dental check-ups

Ages 30 to 40:

  • All of the above, plus fasting glucose and lipid profile every one to two years
  • Thyroid function where symptoms suggest it
  • For women: routine gynecological follow-up and age-appropriate cervical screening

Ages 40 to 50:

  • All of the above, annually
  • Cardiac risk assessment with a cardiologist, and a baseline ECG
  • For women: begin routine breast screening per guidelines and family history
  • Eye examination and intraocular pressure measurement

Over 50:

  • All of the above, annually
  • Discuss colorectal screening with your doctor
  • For men: discuss PSA testing
  • Periodic hearing assessment
  • Bone density assessment for post-menopausal women or where risk factors exist

At any age with a strong family history: screening usually begins ten years before the age at which your closest affected relative was diagnosed. Always mention your family history to your doctor — many people forget to, and it’s among the most important information in the record.

3. Symptoms that can’t wait — go to emergency care immediately

Some symptoms aren’t a clinic appointment; they’re an emergency. Keep this list:

  • Chest pain that is pressing or heavy, especially with sweating, nausea, or radiation to the arm, jaw, or back.
  • Stroke signs: sudden facial droop, weakness in an arm or leg on one side, sudden difficulty speaking or understanding, sudden loss of vision or balance. Time here is brain tissue — every minute matters.
  • Sudden or severe breathlessness.
  • A sudden, violent headache described as the worst of your life.
  • Severe, persistent abdominal pain, particularly with vomiting, fever, or absent bowel movement.
  • Vomiting blood or black, tarry stools.
  • Loss of consciousness or seizures.
  • High fever with neck stiffness or a rash that doesn’t fade under pressure.
  • Sudden pain and swelling in one leg — possibly a venous clot.
  • In pregnancy: bleeding, severe abdominal pain, severe headache with visual disturbance, or absent fetal movement.
  • In children: profound lethargy and difficulty rousing, breathing difficulty, complete refusal to feed or drink, or fever in an infant under three months.

A golden rule: if the question “is this an emergency?” has occurred to you, the answer is usually yes. Going unnecessarily costs you an hour. Delaying may cost far more

Our Specialties — Two Things to Know About Each, and Why We Excel

Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology

  • What we treat: diabetes, hypertension, and lipid disorders; gastric, colonic, and reflux disease; liver disease; anaemia and vitamin disorders; and undifferentiated presentations requiring diagnosis.
  • Worth knowing: more than half the “chronic fatigue” cases we see have an entirely treatable cause — anaemia, vitamin D or B12 deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, or a sleep disorder. The right test saves months of suffering.
  • Why we excel: internal medicine here is the gateway to diagnosis, not just another clinic. With the laboratory and radiology on site, you can leave a single visit with a complete diagnosis instead of making three visits to three places.

General Surgery

  • What we treat: hernias of all types, haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulae, gallbladder disease, thyroid surgery, breast lumps, and skin lesions and abscesses.
  • Worth knowing: many day-case procedures (laparoscopic or minimally invasive) let you go home the same day and return to work within days — provided the right patient and the right technique are matched.
  • Why we excel: we always begin with the question “is surgery necessary now?” And when it is, the complete pre-operative assessment, the follow-up, and home nursing afterwards all sit inside the same system.

Orthopedic Surgery

  • What we treat: fractures and dislocations, knee and hip osteoarthritis, disc disease and spinal pain, ligament and cartilage injuries, and foot and pediatric deformities.
  • Worth knowing: most cases of early and moderate knee osteoarthritis improve markedly without surgery — through weight reduction, quadriceps strengthening, and activity modification. Surgery is a later decision, not a first option.
  • Why we excel: having physiotherapy and a sports injury department inside Sira Clinics makes the patient journey continuous: diagnosis, then a serious conservative plan, then intervention where needed, then rehabilitation — with one team.

ENT

  • What we treat: chronic sinusitis, deviated nasal septum, snoring and sleep apnoea, tonsils and adenoids in children, hoarseness, vertigo, and ear infections.
  • Worth knowing: hoarseness persisting more than three weeks without an obvious cause warrants laryngeal endoscopy — not simply a warm drink and patience. Early diagnosis here matters a great deal.
  • Why we excel: integration with our audiology department means assessment of vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss is completed in a single visit, rather than shuttling between a doctor and a testing center.

Obstetrics & Gynecology

  • What we treat: pregnancy and delivery care, menstrual disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, subfertility, gynecological infections, fibroids, and post-menopausal care.
  • Worth knowing: PCOS isn’t only a fertility issue — it’s a metabolic disorder linked to insulin resistance, weight gain, facial hair, and acne. Treating it properly means combining gynecology, internal medicine, and nutrition.
  • Why we excel: collaboration between gynecology, laboratory, imaging, dermatology, and nutrition inside Sira Clinics means conditions like PCOS are treated from every angle, not just one.

Cardiology & Vascular Medicine

  • What we treat: hypertension, arrhythmias, chest pain, heart failure, post-catheterization and post-surgical follow-up, and cardiac risk assessment before operations.
  • Worth knowing: angina and heart attack symptoms present differently in women and people with diabetes — sometimes as profound fatigue, nausea, or back or jaw pain rather than classic chest pain. This is a major reason their diagnosis is delayed.
  • Why we excel: our cardiac risk assessment doesn’t stop at an ECG. It includes bloodwork, medication review, risk factors, and lifestyle — which is what prevents the event before it happens.

Neurology

  • What we treat: migraine and chronic headache, epilepsy, stroke and its follow-up, peripheral neuropathy, dizziness, Parkinson’s disease, and memory problems.
  • Worth knowing: most cases of chronic daily headache are caused by overuse of the painkillers themselves (medication-overuse headache). The solution sometimes begins by tapering the analgesic under medical supervision, not increasing it.
  • Why we excel: linking neurology to physiotherapy and the mental health department inside the clinic produces markedly better outcomes in post-stroke rehabilitation, tension-related headache, and neuropathy.

Urology & Men’s Health

  • What we treat: kidney and ureteric stones, recurrent urinary infections, prostate enlargement, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction and male subfertility, and varicocele.
  • Worth knowing: erectile dysfunction is frequently the earliest sign of vascular disease — years before any cardiac symptom appears. So we treat it as a signal warranting comprehensive cardiac, glucose, and lipid assessment, not as an isolated problem.
  • Why we excel: complete privacy in reception and records, and integration with internal medicine, cardiology, and mental health — because men’s health presentations usually have multiple contributing causes.

Pediatrics & Neonatology

  • What we treat: growth monitoring and immunizations, colds, allergy and asthma, feeding and growth difficulties, colic, diarrhoea and constipation, and newborn care including jaundice.
  • Worth knowing: fever in an infant under three months requires immediate medical assessment however well the baby appears. In older children, what matters most isn’t the temperature reading but the child’s overall state: their activity, their drinking, and how they engage.
  • Why we excel: a child-friendly environment, scheduled appointments that reduce waiting and infection risk, and direct links to audiology and behavior modification for speech and attention concerns.

Oncology

  • What we provide: early detection and tumour assessment, treatment planning and follow-up, post-treatment monitoring, and symptom management and quality-of-life support.
  • Worth knowing: early detection changes outcomes dramatically in many cancers. Symptoms worth assessing without alarm: a new lump anywhere, a changing mole, unexplained weight loss, abnormal bleeding, or a cough or hoarseness lasting weeks.
  • Why we excel: a fast diagnostic pathway (bloodwork, tumour markers, and imaging on site), and honest, respectful communication with the patient and family at every stage.

Hematology

  • What we treat: anaemias of all types, clotting and bleeding disorders, low or elevated platelets and blood cells, inherited blood disorders such as thalassaemia and Mediterranean anaemia, and anticoagulation monitoring.
  • Worth knowing: iron deficiency anaemia is not a final diagnosis — it’s a symptom requiring a search for its cause, especially in men and post-menopausal women. Taking iron tablets without investigating the cause can conceal a more significant problem.
  • Why we excel: an in-house, quality-controlled laboratory means accurate diagnosis and easy longitudinal tracking of how values change — which is the very essence of hematological follow-up.

Nephrology

  • What we treat: chronic kidney disease and its monitoring, renal protection in diabetes and hypertension, electrolyte and potassium disorders, kidney infections, and post-transplant follow-up.
  • Worth knowing: chronic kidney disease is entirely silent in its early stages, and a substantial proportion of kidney function can be lost before any symptom appears. A simple kidney function test and urinary albumin ratio detects it early — reason enough for routine screening on its own.

Why we excel: our emphasis on prevention in diabetic and hypertensive patients: regular kidney function monitoring and review of medications that may harm the kidneys — because protecting kidneys is a thousand times easier than treating them after damage
